SHORT BIO
Sarah-Iyuna Spencer began the violin at the age of 10. She graduated summa cum laude from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor in Music Education. She has been a private music instructor, ensemble director, section leader in orchestras, and soloist for private events. Spencer is pursuing a master's in music education at the University of South Carolina. She currently works as a Graduate Assistant for the USC String Project.

Sarah-Iyuna (Eye-Yah-Nuh) Spencer is a multitalented musician and educator from Jacksonville, FL, pursuing graduate studies in music education at the University of South Carolina. She currently works as a Graduate Assistant for the USC String Project under the direction of Dr. Gail V. Barnes and conducts the Concertino and Capriccio orchestras.
Beginning the violin at age 10 and after only four months of instruction, Spencer received admittance to LaVilla Middle School of the Arts. In high school, she attended the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts. She graduated summa cum laude from Jacksonville University with a Bachelor in Music Education. Her primary teacher was Dr. Marguerite Richardson.
Spencer has been a private music instructor, ensemble director, section leader in orchestras and soloist for private events. She attended Eastern Music Festival (2022) and has presented research at the College Music Society (2023). Spencer aspires to teach strings to students of underrepresented backgrounds in public schools. She also hopes to compose and record songs as a performing artist.
